FALL 2022 SEMESTER - month of september

  1. NATIONAL GUARD (AUGUST 25 FROM 6PM - 7:45PM) IN THE MAIN LOBBY OF THE HIGH SCHOOL. Stop by their table during Back to School Night to get more information about their programs as well as how you can fund your education by serving part-time through their branch!

  2. FRESNO AREA COLLEGE NIGHT (SEPTEMBER 14, 6PM - 8PM)

    1. Fresno Area is having a FREE College Night Event on Wed. Sept. 14 from 6pm - 8pm. We reserved 2 buses to fill with students to take to explore colleges like community college, 4-year universities, military and more! There will be special workshops on admissions, financial aid and scholarships. This event is open to the public and students and parents are welcome to attend on their own, however we will be filling buses soon for students. First priority is AVID 12 and AVID 11, followed by seniors, then juniors. Be on the look out soon for permission slips and sign-ups!

  3. SOUTH-FRESNO COUNTY/ KINGS COUNTY COLLEGE NIGHT (SEPTEMBER 15, 6PM - 8PM) - see image to right

    1. Sierra Pacific High School (Hanford) is hosting a local college night for all grade levels. Feel free to go on your own to visit with college, vocational, and military reps! It will be a great night to learn and plan for your future!

  4. West Hills College Lemoore Application Workshop - Wednesday 9/21 in the library. Seniors must be signed up and will get a hall pass to attend during their designated class period.

  5. College of Sequoias - Wednesday 9/21 at lunch time by the technology department. Students are encouraged to stop by their table to get more information about programs.

  6. Fresno City College/Reedley College Application Workshop - Thursday 9/22 in the library during periods 2 and 4. Seniors must be signed up and will get a hall pass to attend during their designated class period.

  7. COLLEGE 1O1 - ONLINE WEBINAR FOR STUDENTS AND PARENTS (SEPT. 24 10 AM - 1 PM)

    1. The Hispanic Scholarship Fund (HSF) is offering a free virtual HSF College 101 via Zoom from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 24. This is an exciting opportunity that your students and parents won’t want to miss.

    2. HSF College 101 is a bilingual program designed to help middle and high school students and their parents prepare, plan and pay for college. HSF subject-matter experts will deliver the content and will be joined by admissions representatives from Santa Clara University, Stanford University, UCLA and the University of Oregon.

UC campus fall events for prospective students

This fall, campuses are offering a variety of events for prospective students, including events for first-year, transfer and out-of-state/international applicants. Each campus continues to work closely with state, federal and local agencies to ensure the safety of the campus and community. Therefore, events may be offered in-person or virtually and could change depending on current guidelines. Be sure to check with the campus for more information on the full schedule and format of events as well as registration information.

Campuses may offer a range of virtual opportunities, including college fairs, appointments, admissions sessions, tours and videos on admission, housing and/or financial aid and scholarships. Some will be hosted in person, while others will be offered virtually. Programming for counselors, students and families will be available.
